Scritch & Scratch first came into my mind as a business as I realized I was frequenting TikTok in search of ASMR artists. ASMR means autonomous sensory meridian response and is described by many as a sedative feeling and is often referred to as a 'brain massage'. Usually when you hear about ASMR you think of mouth noises, tapping on a microphone, and whispering I bet. There are many different types of ASMR artists creating on TikTok, but what my brain was responding to most was the sound and imagery of back scratching, light massage, hair brushing, and hair washing. These artists perform on both live models, such as family or friends, or mannequins that you would see in a hair salon. Thousands of people watching these artist's videos and live streams commenting that they wish they were that live model, or that they remember their parents doing this for them as a child, or they wish someone would scratch and tap on their back in the same way. I wanted to be able to give my clients an ASMR experience which means we are open to suggestions and the wants and needs of you.
