It feels really weird when I don’t post. I’ve been sketching but I’ve been too busy and mentally drained. When I say sketching, I probably mean chicken scratch on a yellow stickie at work. Ok, time to feed the blog and time to feed the infant.
I spent the last 3 weeks going straight to the hospital’s NICU (NeoNatal Intensive Care Unit) after work to hang out with my son. He recently had surgery and thankfully every thing is fine. Now he’s home and the real work begins.

Like some true pioneers, don’t forget it
Put the money on the table, let’s split it
We got enough g’s here to make us both happy
Tell them fans we ain’t runnin no coke factory
It’s $hort dawg the real pimp of the century
- Buy You Some Too Short featuring Eric Sermon, MC Breed, Kool Ace
Nothing really special about the lyrics, I just love this track. Short Dawg in the House!
Just laying down some inks to get my morning started. I’m still trying to get loose and have some fun with these posts. I think its safe to say I’m back on the daily grind.

I have allergies or something. ARGHHHHHH.

Here’s a weird late night drawing.

“Mad, Mad Crew Up In The House” – KRS ONE
1993: Return of the Boom Bap
Just a quick late night sketch.

I really should do this in color with a rainbow bright palette.
Caption: Does my hair look good?

Lately I’ve just been drawing whatever. Feels liberating.

“Man, I got the price of a mansion ’round my neck and wrist”
- B.G. “Bling Bling” (Chopper City in the Ghetto 1999)
I always thought that was one of craziest, ridiculous line recorded in a hip hop song. Yes, I still listen to the Hot Boys, Juvenile and Big Tymers. Mannie Fresh & Baby were comical. They were more like cartoon characters than non-talented rappers but the beats were always good.
Note, “Braggin & Boastin” is track from the 1988 Jungle Brothers debut record Straight Out the Jungle which came out the same year as N.W.A’s Straight Outta Compton.
Ok, way too much hip-hop trivia.
This is a work in progress, which is to say I don’t know when I’ll finish this . . . if ever. I wish I finished this piece. Maybe I’ll color it after I ink it up but I have a new found appreciation for black and white. Its classically simple, economical and effective.

Time to hit the clubs just to observe. Apparently their isn’t a strict dress code for some clubs. Maybe in the near future, most night clubs will eventually have a topless license.
I’m just saying.
