Or is it Barack Obama's adept ability to raise funds sans lobbyist, political action committees and his possibly strategic non-active voting record?

O ama's campaign handlers realize that his name is not electable. His opponents and detractors have some serious argument against him and some are using extreme desperate, demagogic tactics. I'm glad that Obama doesn't apologize for the name that he was given at birth and he doesn't validate the stupidity.
Some people would have you believe that Barack Obama is associated with Osama Bin Laden and/or Saddam Hussein in some form or manner. Unfortunately, some people will not only entertain the idea, they may even believe it to be fact. He's an insurgent! He was recently endorsed by Louis Farrakhan. He must be a bomb yielding insurgent. Hussein is just his name.
Its obvious that America has a serious problem with names. For more on the subject of names, I highly recommend reading Freakonomics Chapter 6 "Perfect Parenting, Part II; or: Would a Roshanda by Any Other Name Smell as Sweet." Some people are determined to hold on to their ethnic names like the character Kunta Kinte of the television series Roots. Adopting an American name means fitting in, finding success in the states and some times survival. It is an issue with many people in America from the Jewish community, Asian American, Mexicans, to the African Americans. People deal with their names in many different ways like Martin Sheen, Emilio Estevez, Allen Stewart Konigsberg (Woody Allen), and Kong-Sang Chan (Jackie Chan). Hopefully people will move beyond some one's name, respect other ethnic cultures enough to correctly pronounce their names. And if they do not, don't give them an easy way out.
