Dan Panosian kills Tank Abott. Peep Machida!!!
Posts will resume shortly but in the interim check out cook work from a good illustrator/ comic book artist Dan Panosian. I discovered his work through the sketchbook Drink and Draw published by Image and his blog Urban Barbarian. His work reminds me to Step Up My Game! Dan (IMHO) is one of the few comic book illustrators with a strong sense of design . . . peep this cover for a comic book called Irredeemable.
Make sure you check out his Deviant Art page and blog.

Artist Spotlight.
There’s nothing really much to say except I always appreciated Overton Loyd’s work. He’s one of the visual artists responsible for blowing your mind via the mothership of the Parliament/Funkadelic. His contribution was recently covered in the music magazine Wax Poetics. There’s a strong chance his work may be lost in the sea of popular culture so I had to post a quick short tribute to his work.
I know he influenced the comics behind the Digital Underground CD but he also probably had an effect on the mini comic in De La Soul’s classic ground breaking debut 3-Feet High and Rising.
Here are some links to get familiar with his work.

Overvision

I don’t plan on highlighting many artists, but I had to represent an old friend, Bobby Hill. Major media coverage of up and coming artist is lacking so I’ll provide an short article. This fellow artist really inspires me because I’ve witnessed the progression of his work. His work has been featured in XXL, Slam, and is featured in the current issue of the Source magazine with Nelly on the cover. He received a co-sign from Jay-Z and House of Pain DJ Danny Boy, who discovered his work on E-Bay.

Hill has been grinding despite facing setbacks throughout the past years. Getting evicted from his apartment didn’t stop his flow, it just strengthened his personal reserves. Hill continues to create art and explore possibilities that speaks from his soul. That kind of hustle and work ethic inspires me to challenge myself and increase the post frequency on this lonely blog. It’s really good when an artist not only works from passion but continue to thrive in the face of adversity. His mantra, Relentless, Forward Motion.

If you get a chance, check out an art show featuring his original work. One.
