Peace a pie…

This one could have been better, but its just a loose test. It’s just another drawing note that would be forever hidden in my sketchbook that I decided to share. The weather doesn’t look great this weekend so I’m probably posting throughout this weekend, and setting up posts for next week.
And here’s the immature, f-you it’s Friday drawing. I’m probably going to be the weirdo in the bar with my small sketchbook listening to old dancehall, roots-rockers and reggae tunes!

I enjoyed the long Memorial Day weekend. I went to a wedding on Saturday. Watched the super flawless victory of Lyoto Machida over Rashad Evans. Flawless as in Mortal Combat ending, Shotokan Style. Next up, Quinton I-BETTER-EMPLOY-MORE-DISCIPLINES-LIKE-WRESTLING “Rampage” Jackson. Enjoyed a barbecue Sunday evening and hung out with my brother and his amusing wife.
Back to work and trying to get back into my flow.

Soulja Boy went from 1-hit wonder to a young recording artist that many industry veterans want to work with to benefit from his popularity. Despite his many achievements and increasing number of fans, he is still considered a talentless clown by journalists, industry insiders, and his peers. Soulja Boy has officially conquered the NY radio market and has been embraced by artists like Maino, Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, and Fabolous. Some of these artists recently bemoaned the death of hip hop, lack of originality and lyricism are now eager to hang on the coattails of a young emcee not known for poetic verses or high lyrical content.
While I don’t see myself purchasing his CD any time soon, I really can not see why many dismiss him because he doesn’t measure up to their personal tastes or standards of hip hop music recorded in the 1990′s . . . the revered Golden Age. At this point, hip hop fans need to simply congratulate and move on. No one is expecting Soulja Boy to produced a critically acclaimed full length disc. His career is still in its beginning stages and last time I check Lil Wayne is now considered on the the top 10 recording artist by many younger hip hop fans.
Last note, I am really tired of hearing the word swag and/or swagger.

There’s always a better alternative than shouting and screaming at each other in frustration and anger. I know there are number of people that don’t like the silent treatment but some times it may be necessary.
Just 4 panels?!? Just headshots??? I’m just practicing right now!

Marvin “Black” Marshall has been tired of playing a cantankerous alien from Mars and has been looking for different roles since the mid 1980′s. Insiders state that he will not get hired because of his height and his inability to work with his co-stars. He has reportedly threatened several A-list actors during auditions. Marshall feels that he can not get a role because Hollywood is scared of pitch black skin, lack ears, nose and mouth. Occasionally he reprises his most famous role for Warner Brothers Studios citing financial reasons.
“I’m doing this alien s*** for the money!” – Marvin “Black” Marshall, from Red Hook, Brooklyn NY.

Unfinished.
3 – 4:00 am. Drawn while I’m still semi-conscious, listening to some cool grooves, surfing online-checking NBA playoff stats, and enjoying my early morning moments of blissful, sweet serenity.
By the time I realized how many horrible errors I made, it is close to 6am and I have to drag myself to work. Looks like I gave her facial hair on her chin. Please forgive me, I’m just loosely scribbling, scritching & scratching and sharing my super-cool-awsomeness.

I’ll post the other 3 panels soon.
AutoBio, not really, just experimenting and working on a short project.

Work in Progress: I’m still having fun with the style that made Matt Groening famous. This may be the cover for an underground hip hop CD. I have to add about 3-4 more rappers in a crowded bar scene.
I definitely feel awkward jacking the Simpsons style so I must provide the disclaimer: FOR PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY!! Don’t forget to peep this fun how-to-draw book.
