Who's Kool Aid is better?
Is it Hillary Clinton's purported 35 years of experience and tested expert abilities in crisis management? I guess Silda Spitzer can also make those same claims. Or is it Barack Obama's adept ability to raise funds sans lobbyist, political action committees and his possibly strategic non-active voting record?
To their credit, they're both great politicians with the ability to spin and twist soft notions into hard facts. Fortunately there are a number of sites (and bloggers) out there like FactCheck and SourceWatch that guides you through the rhetoric and campaign vows that may be largely ignored after November 2008.
There's Kool Aid provided by Senator John McCain, that's if you want some who admitted to not knowing much about the economy and strongly supports the efforts in the Iraq and probably connects the war to 9/11. And let's not forget his friend John Hagee. There's Nader's Kool Aid which is critically acclaimed but unfortunately doesn't do well at the box office. And the far less known but also important refreshment provided by the Constitution Party and America First Party. But their beverages are not appealing because the Dems and the GOP still has the game on lock with warchests exceeding millions.
I probably violated some kind of copyright law but this copy+paste image was too easy to pass up. Obama's graphics are way better than his opponents, just like his speeches. Just don't confuse that with his overall platform.

I thought it would be interesting to take a drawing and alter it over a period of time. This is just an excuse to recycle old drawings and reinvent them, give them new life in a different context. The 1950's influenced style will remain the same but the composition and colors will change often.
I used Prodigy as a guide for this character. His menacing facial expressions are usually perfect for hip hop caricatures.

Wanted to post something so as not to break the Monday tradition... starting the week off properly...it is Monday right?? A sic-fi look been looking at alot of art online. There really are some phenomenal artists out there make me feel like an untalented sop...I have to work harder!!!
Editorial note: This is not an attempt to smear Barack Hussein Obama, Muslims, nor Islam. It's late and I'm just having fun sketching while random thoughts and ideas keep me entertained.
O ama's campaign handlers realize that his name is not electable. His opponents and detractors have some serious argument against him and some are using extreme desperate, demagogic tactics. I'm glad that Obama doesn't apologize for the name that he was given at birth and he doesn't validate the stupidity.
Some people would have you believe that Barack Obama is associated with Osama Bin Laden and/or Saddam Hussein in some form or manner. Unfortunately, some people will not only entertain the idea, they may even believe it to be fact. He's an insurgent! He was recently endorsed by Louis Farrakhan. He must be a bomb yielding insurgent. Hussein is just his name.
Its obvious that America has a serious problem with names. For more on the subject of names, I highly recommend reading Freakonomics Chapter 6 "Perfect Parenting, Part II; or: Would a Roshanda by Any Other Name Smell as Sweet." Some people are determined to hold on to their ethnic names like the character Kunta Kinte of the television series Roots. Adopting an American name means fitting in, finding success in the states and some times survival. It is an issue with many people in America from the Jewish community, Asian American, Mexicans, to the African Americans. People deal with their names in many different ways like Martin Sheen, Emilio Estevez, Allen Stewart Konigsberg (Woody Allen), and Kong-Sang Chan (Jackie Chan). Hopefully people will move beyond some one's name, respect other ethnic cultures enough to correctly pronounce their names. And if they do not, don't give them an easy way out.
So if you want to name your child Barack, Emilio, Condoleeza or Ti-Hua Chang, it is your prerogative. Sure Jamal, Shaniqua or Rashim may not quickly get approved for the Upper East Side condo, or some job applications but its just a name and America is ready for a change! Oh yeah, and Nader is running again!! Good for him and the American democratic process.
