Wu-Tang vs Shaolin: Knights Gambit

Raekwon - Knights Gambit The last Wu-Tang vs Shaolin post received some cool feedback so I decided to have more fun. This has a heavy comic book influence, after all this is Wu. A red, black and green color scheme, know what I mean? I could really work this piece further but I can't give Wu too many free ideas. The title may be appreciated by chess fans. Some folks on the Wu Forum apparently thought this was official, no thanks to the KZA(?) who posted an empty site with no content besides my illustration and a decent Raekwon track. Judging from several responses, Raekwon needs to really make this happen as soon as possible. I still say RZA should be involved in some capacity, consulting or mixing the final tracks.

KanYe Bear Varsity Team

Kanye Bear Varsity Here's some unfinished worked. Of course my sketch is inspired by Murakami's design with a few modifications. The final piece will be fully colored and upgraded. For this character-design I decided to cut the cute animal factor and humanize him. That makes it easier to dress him up. There's sure to be a tutorial and an animated gif coming soon. I guess at some point they will release the cool animated video for Good Morning, if you haven't seen it you can probably check it out somewhere on YouTube. Or who knows, they may add the video to a special Graduation DVD product. So does the creative team of Ralph Lauren's Polo get recognition for all of West's CD covers or do the fans hail Kanye as a creative visionary. Either way its good to see a recording artist who understands the importance of his visual performance and marketing. Judging by his Grammy Awards performance, the Glow in the Dark Tour should be an interesting affair. Personally Kanye West's Grammy performance was tight. His vocals were measured and clear for his emotional performance of "Mama." The visuals for "Stronger" were straight out of the '80s but cool nonetheless. There were a bunch of great performers during the 50th Anniversary of the Grammy Awards. I particularly enjoyed Alicia Keys and Herbie Hancock. The young kid who sang for Cirque de Soleil sounds promising. The Time may be an old band but I'm not tired of watching their act.

Internet IshTalkers

Scritch and Scratch Scritch and Scratch is in the club, we in these streets, we doing it up! Nah, not really, not at all. And we're not throwing up signs of any kind. I'm just drawing, preparing art prints, surfin the net, hitting the gym . . . and finishing some hot illustrations that will be posted pretty soon. More animated content will be coming soon regularly.

The Usual suspects

Some sketches for clothing designs...usual suspects

Brooklyn Nights Art

Hip Hop Character, MC, emcee I love to draw at night and early morning, before sunrise. It’s one of the best ways to end or start the day. My process for these pieces is kind of laborious. Ctrl-Z can be your friend or enemy. I go through several revisions before I stop and declare the piece complete. Eventually I will commit some compositions to huge canvases with rich and vibrant hues followed by a show some where in Brooklyn, NY. Why not? There’s definitely more to come, so stay tuned. Here’s a potential poster with some more classic Blue Note influence. Art Show
