First, I am a Lyoto Machida fan. People may call him boring but I call him smart, technical and so far, dominating. Elusive?!? The ability to stay out of harm's way while inflicting punishment on your opponent is smart. Period. Lyoto did take a good shot from Soukoudjo in the first round but his judo skills were not a factor at all.
Hughes vs. St. Pierre was a great performance. Although completely one-sided, who would have thought that GSP would dominate Matt Hughes on the ground and then sub him with an armbar. Unfortunately, I have this crazy feeling that is strongly possible that Serra may have his number. I'm looking forward to GSP-Serra II. What should Matt Hughes do after this? I don't know, move to 185 and face Anderson Silva?!? Anderson Silva definitely has a ground game and he is comfortable on his back
Chuck defeats Wanderlei by decision. Decision. While the fight was great, it was also a bit of a let down. From the opening bell both fighters were very tentative. The last fighter who promised action at the opening bell and delivered was Diego Sanchez in his losing effort against Jon Fitch. The 2nd round was the best round. In the 3rd round, after Liddell tried to finish Silva with the flurries against cage, he appeared weary. He said in the post fight interview that he attempted the takedowns to simply score some points. He knew he wasn’t going to do much from there.
Win or Lose I take nothing away from Wanderlei Silva. Silva wanted to put on a show. He can take a punch, although I never thought that ability was truly noteworthy. He showed heart and was clearly coming back when he was in trouble. But I think his striking has many holes. He needs to try throwing straight jabs as opposed to wild swings. They may connect, but a straight jab is more efficient.
Either way, I will be watching this fight again and again and again! They both fought to the best of their ability, so they both won! Aside from my little qualms with the fight, it was a great show. I wouldn’t mind Liddell-Wanderlei II.

Jardine vs Machida
Liddell vs Henderson
Yeah, Alexander ground game is suspect but he is still an exciting fighter nonetheless. I doubt he is as horrible as Melvin Guillard who is continuously getting defeated the same way.

Work in Progress Add Wanderlei Silva! Forget about predictions, I just want to see a GREAT SHOW. UFC 77 and 78 were disappointing. I pretty much doubt Silva will run out of gas after the 1st round like Shogun did against Forrest. This fight may not last 3 rounds but I'm almost sure it will be an exciting 1 or 2 rounds. Question, considering Liddell's match against Jardine, will he come in with a game plan? Defend low leg kicks? Adapt if he finds himself in an uncomfortable position? Or will he knock out Silva in less than 2 minutes? Soukoudjou might set the pace against the crafty Machida. Lyoto Machida is a great fighter and Soukoudjou is believed to be dangerous based off his KO wins against Arona and Little Nogueira. I'm anticipating 2 sensational fights!! Hughes vs GSP, ehh, I don't know. Hughes is obviously going to attempt 2-3 takedowns per round. Hopefully, they're not spending valuable minutes on the ground trying to vie for better positions. Anyway, what do I know? This may be the best fight of the night.
A while back a designer/photographer from Brazil told me that she didn't care for the movie City of God. She wasn't really thrilled by the violence and the fact that she got robbed at gunpoint by small children 10 times within that past year did not help either. She decided to make her way to the states. Often the horrible social conditions of others serve as entertainment for those that are not immediately affected. I have to admit to myself, that’s messed up. While some movies may have a direct message about the plight of less fortunate people, other films simply glorify senseless destruction. After viewing City of God I thought it did glorify violence, but I wasn’t really sure about that opinion after watching the documentary on the DVD. The director obviously wants to elicit empathy and awareness for the conditions that exist in those slums. In the end the movie is great but it is crazy. Life must be really cheap! Well the same director and producers followed up with a series called City of Men and on January 18th, 2008, City of Men the movie will be hitting limited theaters. I just recently saw a poster hanging by an artsy movie theater. Hopefully this new film will produce compelling characters like Lil Ze’ because I’m sure it will not lack action. I never say a lot.... so umm I dont know if anyone else ever even looks at this site but I like to draw. and so thats why I post. But I really want to know what people think of my work, like it love it hate it... maybe you could give some thoughts or whatever. I'm interested also in doing some collabo's. Im trying to get a clothing line out in the near future so I'm trying to work on stuff for that. A Streetwear line called DPR. ill post some of the designs in the coming weeks...also look for our website by March. i mean a real one not a blog !! ill geet it up even if i have to hire someone to do it. The after work crowd was just beginning to arrive. She was sitting alone at the end of the bar fidgeting and glancing at the door often. Sitting right next to her, I tried not to be too obvious and stare at her. Quickly, she turned around, looked directly at me and gave me a look that I will never forget. I froze. My mouth went dry and I didn’t utter a word. I'm almost sure she smiled but I wasn't certain what her look meant. She went back to watching and waiting and I went back to nursing my drink. Maybe I should tap her on the shoulder and try to say something. I don't know.
