Old Doodle dumps

Random old crap, c. 2002? I should draw more monsters, creatures, critters and definitely insects, infinite possibilities. But nothing beats Ugly Dolls right now. The 2nd creature is definitely on some Pac-man steez. There's a strong chance I was feeling the design of Mortal Kombat or Psylocke. The anatomy ain't bad, ehhh? old drawings There's more to this, which I'll post much later. Fire next week. heads

Theme: Movie Poster

This piece needs improvement. I'll touch up the line work, make it consistent, add the 2nd cop and post next week. There are many holes in this illustration. The more you check it out, the more apparent they are, but I am happy with the color treatment! I'm trying a different style, at least it has some depth. Hot Fuzz poster I guess the is the Bad Boys poster version - It's works for this film. Apparently goofy cop movies are trying to make a comeback. Reno 911! Maimi, was not as funny as I thought it would be. I still want to see Super Troopers. Naked Gun (Police Squad) movies were classic. O.J. Simpson as Nordberg was tight. Hot Fuzz movie poster

Four Women (Rough-Rough Draft)

four women Big-Up Nina. I rushed this and put up the wrong image. Working with the variations of the same image. I was working on one thing and then saw this quick image manifest and began to explore it a bit. Reminds me of that 80's steez, and that image from Prince's video for When Doves Cry. I like to use braids because they provide many possibilities with patterns and textures. I'll turn this into a project that will complement the song much better. Nina's daughter, Simone, is also dope, she killed Aida on B'way. I like Four Women because it sounds haunting and very eerie. The song has been covered a couple of times, even by Talib Kweli. I never heard his version, because I'm not a huge fan but I enjoy his Quality CD. He definitely can say more with less words. His verbose wordplay works some times, but not for an entire CD. Still, I gotta cop his version. He definitely get props for tackling a song like that. The last hip-hop artist to cover a song that was more or less historic was Snoop's cover of Slick Rick's La-Di-Da-Di. He performed it live on Saturday Night Live with a live band, the arrangement was tight and Snoop's vocals was as smooth as ever.

Just For Fun

locked Just for fun, I did not want them floating in empty space so they're floating in bubbles . . . why not yellow. I need to a bit more creative and expand my color pallette. It's been a bit stale.

Character Redux

UFC 69!

Diego, was a no-show - Kos keeps his chin exposed, jabs, counters and wins - I really thought Diego was going to explode in the first 3 seconds. Matt Sera, WOW! - Welterweight division is now open. - Matt Hughes was really funny! - Serra never beat anyone by TKO (strikes) Mike Swick def. Mike Swick - The fight could have been over in the first round - "Oh I didn't expect him to be strong in the clinch." I remember another 185 pounder saying that, former champ, Rich Franklin. - Swick is thinking about dropping to weight divisions. Kendall Grove looked impressive! . . . I have yet to see an MMA combatant effectively use a straight jab. Good strikers? I think not.

– Great Friday –

Most days I feel great, but then there's the push and pull between priorities and what you really want to do. Whatever.

Hes my first for the month

Graf Flavored

OK, I can develop this a bit more. I am feeling the colors and the way it looks next the penciled drawing. This character looks like my old junior high stuff . . . but updated and better. dreads

Quick doodles

Busy with work, so I just had to post some quickies to set this month off.
