Mixed Martial Arts Emperor: Fedor Emelianenko

Drawing of Fedor Emelianenko

Here’s a fun and sloppy drawing of The Last Emperor – Fedor Emelianenko.

The last time he lost a fight was back in 2000. That loss was due to a technicality from an illegal blow. He eventually got the opportunity to avenge that loss in a dramatic TKO victory. He owns victories over 5 FORMER UFC CHAMPIONS. His current record is 31 wins, 1 loss and 1 no contest. That’s the facts. This past Saturday, Fedor defeated Brett Rogers with a broken nose and hand.

While he may be one of the best mixed martial artists, he is far from the best fighter in the world or the “Baddest Man on the Planet.” Although American boxing is doing a horrible job of promoting their product, the MMA media tend to forget about another product from the former Soviet Union, the world-heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko: 53 Wins (47 KOs), 3 Losses.

Side note, did anybody notice how poorly the U.S. has performed in the 2008 Summer Olympics boxing (1 bronze medal), wrestling/greco-roman wrestling (3 medals), judo (1 bronze medal), and Taekwondo (3 medals) categories? Too bad many Americans do not embrace change because more foreign athletes are the foreseeable future in combat sports.
