Bodie Died

It's pursposely quick and crude, just wanted to have fun and keep things loose with limited colors. Think I'll mess around with more characters from the WIRE. The series is crazy. I just wonder if people are attracted to the violence and the street life or do they appreciate the subtle nuances of various storylines, multiple arcs and the dialogue?

  • Hey Bro. R U using a combo of Illustrator and Photoshop? It might be “crude” but it has a “style” to it. I think I know how you’re doing it (or at least how I would do it) and look forward to seeing more exploration.

  • Painter and Photoshop. Yeah, that’s exactly how I’m doing it. It’s quick easy and fun.

  • What’s good brutha? Like the art work right there. got some skillz. Keep doing ur thing

  • Love the work. Love the fact that the Wire is getting some more love.

For me its both. Part of me doesn’t want to admit that I like the street life stuff. Its not what I have lived but I feel like it has become the authenticity stick by which I have been judged. However, if I am totally honest with myself I can’t deny I can’t deny there’s part of me that gets charged with the gangsterism.
The nuances of the show I think what make it special. Characters from all sides of the story aren’t flat they have complexity and depth.

    Best stuff on Tv

  • Yeah 1st – this drawing is hot!
I too am addicted to the Wire. Not sure if it’s because I grew up knowing someone similar to most of the characters, or if what I don’t know about the other characters keeps me hanging on and waiting to see how things unfold. Hope that someone from the illustration crew of the Wire gets wind of this work.. Could open some serious doors.. Keep doin’ what you do dude!

  • Hey Estee, in a few (maybe the summer) I’m doing a series of Wire influenced drawings. I’ll call it the Wire week!
    Thanks for dropping by!
